One of my favourite photos, this...
it was a brilliant roll of film.
it was a perfect morning spent walking in a misty park with mia.
today i got to drive the bmw home because the mitsubishi people sent my mechanic the wrong radiator..
the bmw is an entirely different species of animal to the mitsubishi. it's rear wheel drive and a straight six for one. it has airbags, and brakes that never lock up even if you come round a corner at eighty and there's a possum trying to commit suicide via instant bumper decomposition. you can save him.
here is a list of things the bmw is better at doing than my car:
turning,
stopping,
accelerating,
playing music,
things that require suspension (such as keeping the bottom of the car off the ground).
here is a list of things my car is better at doing than the bmw:
having a manual gearbox.
it's a real toss up, to be honest. on that one thing alone.
....
hey y'all need to listen to A Fistful of Film Music by Ennio Morricone. the man is a genius. i am in love with this album and i don't even like westerns.
it is so triumphant and superbly composed, moping around the house seems somehow fruitful and worthwhile.
everything you do, even just the dishes, feels like you've just won a gunfight.
if you have to work yourself into such strangeness, please try Il Ritorno di Ringo and Farewell to Cheyenne as an hors de'oeuvre.
you won't regret it.
it's not as bad as eating a still beating snake heart (think i need to cancel Sky tv..).

tiny door.
jessica has the most beautiful quot. on her blog.
about a low door.
this door doesn't take you to the same sort of place i don't believe.
but i was reminded nonetheless.
this is swanson cemetery, new zealand.
it had a terrible feeling though it looked innocuous, even cheerful.
so nothing new, just the old. well
the dead.

..cracked radiator; head gasket fine. new cap for overflow.
tomorrow i will have my car back(!!!) once i get a new radiator. grrrm.
so if it's still fair weather, after noon i plan to go cruising.
maybe find some nice cemetery somewhere.
in other news...
i have pulled out my bit of broken molar. nothing like a bit of do-it-yourself home dentistry. can't afford a car and teeth..!
:)
lol
no...
it was almost out. it didn't hurt. upon closer inspection it's only a quarter of the tooth, the problem is, half of the tooth is a temporary filling, so it's a potential disaster in the making..
anyway, at least i can chew on that side again, and i have a nice hole to stick my tongue in.
maybe i won't even smoke so many ciggies cos i'll be entertained..?
i was using film so can't post it now, but today i got to meet and photograph a Triumph Stag at the parts yard. it was orange and radiant (but you know, still a convertible.. bleyeeechhh). the old parts guy he got it with no engine (3000cc v8 i believe normally?), so he put in a 2.5l v6, but i reckon that'd be enough.
told him if the photo turns out i'd bring him a copy. he was chuffed.
i will tho.
if it turns out.
his yard had a view of the harbour.
it was the oddest place, looking out over a sea of scrap and mangled mitsubishi's to the ocean.

winter trees and a day in the sun.
hiya folks.
for a while there i didn't have enough words to spare any.
this will be short as i'm still not feeling too chatty right yet.
just obsessed with winter trees at the moment, they make me deliriously happy, which is different from every other winter when i wished to see green leaves and was miserable as a result.
today was spent in true "westie" style. the term westie is peculiar to new zealand but i think every country has it's own special term of endearment.
in sun outside the closed mechanic, drinkin beer, watchin sam try to silicone the cap of my radiator overflow bottle (hopefully that's all..!). dancin round the parkin lot to bassy radio seepin from his dented and broken bmw (well i was).
good times.
didn't work tho.
had to leave it there for the 'morrow when i can buy a new bastard cap.
it's terrible being reliant on things for your happiness. because things inevitably break..
or they break you.
or both.
